How Do I Enter? - (And Tell Me What It Costs)

DRIVE FOR THE DOC;

 

TO ENTER:

N.B.  The 2017 Drive 4x4 The Doc events have concluded. 

The route for the 2018 events is still to be created.  The dates for the 2018 Drive 4x4 The Doc will be

Wednesday November 14th to Sunday November 18th.  The event will start on the Bellarine Peninsula,

east of Geelong with welcome drinks and dinner as a location still to be decided.

To register for Drive 4x4 The Doc, participants are required to either post or email the entry form to the event organiser together with your cheques (or credit card authorisation) for the relevant entry & disbursements fees.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS:

There are three separate payments to participate in the event.

 

Donation – a minimum of $2,000 per vehicle.  Payment is to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Victorian Section.  

(The donation is not subject to GST and All donations over $2 are tax deductible.  If you wish you can use the Drive 4x4 The Doc Everyday Hero web page to help you raise your donation money.  Your minimum donation must be paid in full by 31st August 2016.)

  • Entry Fee - $400 per vehicle.  This payment is to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

(The entry fee includes GST.  The fee is calculated on a cost recovery only basis and is designed to cover the costs of setting up the event.)

  • Disbursements Fee - $570 per participant.  This payment is to the Outback Car Trek Pty Limited.

(The disbursements fee includes GST, and is also calculated on a cost recovery only basis.  This fee pays for all of your meals on the event, your public liability insurance, and national parks fees, hand-outs and much more.)

All participants, including passengers, must be eligible to hold a full (i.e. non-provisional) driver's licence recognised in Australia.  This event is not suitable for minors.

OTHER COSTS:

​

Each of the overnight towns have been selected (in part) because of their wide range of accommodation options across all budget levels.  You are required to book and pay for your own accommodation.  We don’t do the bookings but we can provide recommendations about where to stay.  Or you can talk to the local tourism offices, or search the Internet.

​

As well as your accommodation, you will be required to pay your own out-of-pocket expenses, such as fuel, personal items, souvenirs, drinks with meals, etc.
