Drive 4x4 The Doc

This is not a “full on” 4WD trip, more of a relaxed drive in the country on a mixture of highway, dirt roads and fire trails, aimed at the novice or intermediate 4WDriver.  Most types of 4WD cars will be suitable for the event, with ground clearance and suitability for dirt road driving being the primary concerns when deciding if a vehicle is fit for purpose.  You won't need recovery gear, winches, or traction control.  BUT - perhaps pack a picnic blanket and hamper?

 

Potentially the larger AWD cars will be suitable also, such as the Ford Territory and Toyota Kluger. (The AWD versions only, not their 2WD versions.)  The smaller AWD and SUVs are not recommended, but if in doubt, please ring me.
